Being a species of duck, the Mallard is usually found around bodies of water.

How to Identify

Mallard females make a "quack" sound, similar to other ducks. The males make a more rattling sound. The males have a dark green head with a yellow bill. They have purple-brown plumage on the breast, and grey on the body. The females, however, are mainly brown, with an orange bill.
